March birthdays. I have an Aunt and Uncle with birthdays this month. Uncle Don will be 75 and Aunt Annie will be 90. Wow, I'm 65 and I feel old a lot. Aunt Annie was my first neighbor as I recall. She also had her family, Uncle Arvid, and my cousins Judy, Jan, and Jim. John came later, as did my sister Sue.

I remember birthday parties that were hosted by Aunt Annie. She made the best tuna salad sandwiches, and then there were the meringue shells for dessert. Happy birthday Anna Mae!  Uncle Don is just about 9 years older than I am. Don and I have been on many adventures, maybe more appropriately termed misadventures. I’ve loved every time we have gotten lost on a fishing trip, eaten steaks flavored with sand, and on one occasion causing the local fire department to come out and tell us that campfires weren’t allowed. So, here’s to the fun times. Happy birthday Unca Don, and many more!

Also, I can’t forget my Stepdaughter, Jen. She is just a kid at 41, but she reminds me so much of her Mom, Lisa. I wish Lisa and I knew each other when we were 41. You are both beautiful women. Happy birthday, Jen, and many more!

Occasionally, I like to remember happy times in my life (I'll be 65 soon) and many of them go back to my childhood. I'd like to share them and other thoughts about life, good times, family, and hope with whomever would like to read. 1/21/12
